Thomas von Kreisler's Lenham GT Coupe.![]()
![]()
This car is owned by Thomas von Kreisler of Germany. Thomas says: "At least 15 years ago I visited the Lenham factory and I was hooked.
By then Julian Booty was still in the company and it would have been possible to order a car or the parts for it. Since than I always visited the company on my trips to England. Two years ago I bought a Lenham from ebay uk and it is under a very slow restoration. I tried to save as much of the original tub as possible instead of buying a new one. Now this work is done and the next step is to fit a roll cage which I bought from Rollcentre as a kit this year. I also found another Lenham bonnet in much better condition than mine. May be someone can identify the bonnet in the pictures - there is
no bulge. Is it a very early one? The other bonnet I bought has a bulge on one side. I have already a rally engine and all the parts for a straight cut gearbox.
The car will be painted BRG like my other British cars" A recent photograph shows the car upon collection from the paint shop. It would appear that British Racing Green has given way to (Speedwell?) Blue! Below are some more recent photographs.
"Here are some pictures of my Lenham. At least it looks like a car now and it is rolling!!! You can see some other projects in the background which are keeping me busy. I am rallying the Midget and
hopefully I can tour in the Alps with it in February for some drifting. Biggest problem is finding a navigator.
Best wishes and I will send some information as soon as the Lenham is further progressing."
Many thanks to Thomas for his photos and information.
