Ian Burford's Lenham LeMans Coupe

Ian Burford has recently purchased this wonderful Lenham Le Mans Coupe. This car has a bit of history, as it was rallied by the Late Gordon Howie. Recently the subject of a rebuild undertaken by the previous owner, Barrie Williams. "I found your website via Yahoo and I thought I would make contact. I have just bought Barry Williams Lenham Midget GT. It used to be owned by Gordon Howie who successfully rallied it before it was bought by Barry Williams, re-sprayed red from blue and equipped for circuit racing. It has not been raced; however I do have pictures of Barry driving the car past HRH Prince Philip! My plan is to get my National B licence and compete in the HSCC or Master Series with it."

Andy Gibson (Of the ArkleySS Register) co-drove with Gordon in 1998. "You may like to use the attached picture on your site, which is of myself (co-driver) with the late Gordon Howie (driver) competing in the Rallye des Géants in France in 1998.  http://www.phautosport.com/Rallye-1998/Rallye-des-Geants-1998/Engages.php shows the entry list."

Below are a couple of new photos from Ian (July 04 2011): "I have been racing my Lenham for just over a year now. I am having a lot of fun and the car is going well, being looked after by Shaun and Graham at Classic Cars of Kent .I have attached a few pictures of me racing:  the first is the Lenham on the grid at last year’s Silverstone Classic. The other is a bit of an arty shot taken by a friend of me at a very wet Brands Hatch."
